The international badminton circuit heads to Maribor this week as the I FEEL SLOVENIA Li-Ning Open 2026 takes place from 13th–17th of May at the Dras Sport Centre.
In men’s singles, Italy’s Giovanni Toti arrives as the top seed. Close behind him is Denmark’s Victor Ørding Kauffmann, seeded second.
One familiar face returning to Slovenia is Spain’s Pablo Abián. The veteran Spaniard remains the only player in this year’s field to have previously won the tournament, having lifted the title all the way back in 2010. More than a decade later, Abián returns hoping experience can guide him to another deep run.
Home hopes will also be high in men’s doubles, where Slovenia’s Miha Ivančič and Tadej Jelenc are seeded third. The Slovenian pair will aim to use the support of the local crowd to challenge for a podium finish on home soil.
