While last week's YONEX US Open ended with a European triumph as Denmark's Line Christophersen defeated Bulgaria's Kaloyana Nalbantova in the women's singles final, the BWF World Tour now moves north of the border for the YONEX Canada Open.

The Super 300 event gets underway later today and runs until Sunday, with many of the same European players looking to build on their performances from last week. As was the case at the US Open, Europe is well represented across all five disciplines.

Men's Singles

The men's singles draw features a familiar group of European contenders, including Misha Zilberman (Israel), Kalle Koljonen (Finland), Magnus Johannesen (Denmark), Aria Dinata (Croatia), Ditlev Jæger Holm (Denmark), Harry Huang (England) and Julien Carraggi (Belgium).

One all-European first-round clash is guaranteed, with Misha Zilberman (Israel) taking on Kalle Koljonen (Finland) for a place in the second round.

Women's Singles

Fresh from claiming the US Open title, Line Christophersen (Denmark) will once again lead the European challenge in women's singles alongside fellow Dane Amalie Schulz.

Polina Buhrova (Ukraine), Yvonne Li (Germany) and Kaloyana Nalbantova (Bulgaria) are also among the European players hoping to make deep runs in Canada.

The opening round features an all-European encounter as Polina Buhrova (Ukraine) meets Yvonne Li (Germany).

Men's Doubles

The men's doubles draw features Oliver Butler/Samuel Jones (England), Alex Green/Zach Russ (England), Bjarne Geiss/Jones Jansen (Germany), Eloi Adam/Leo Rossi (France), Julien Maio/William Villeger (France), Jiri Kral/Ondrej Kral (Czech Republic), Christian Faust Kjær/Rasmus Kjær (Denmark) and Christopher Grimley/Matthew Grimley, Alex Dunn/Adam Pringle (Scotland).

Women's Doubles

The women's doubles draw includes Amalie Cecilie Kudsk/Simona Pilgaard (Denmark), Abbygail Harris/Estelle Van Leeuwen (England), Paula Lopez/Lucia Rodriguez (Spain), Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr (Ukraine), Julie Macpherson/Ciara Torrence (Scotland) and Kathrine Vang/Mette Werge (Denmark).

One of the standout European matches in the opening round sees Amalie Cecilie Kudsk/Simona Pilgaard (Denmark) face Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr (Ukraine).

Mixed Doubles

European Championships silver medallists Callum Hemming/Estelle Van Leeuwen (England) return as one of the leading contenders, while the European field also includes Oliver Butler/Abbygael Harris (England), Calvin Devereux/Desiree Töpffer (Germany), Julien Maio/Léa Palermo (France), Samuel Jones/Lizzie Tolman (England), Kristoffer Kolding/Mette Werge (Denmark), Filip Karlborg/Tilda Sjöö (Sweden), Ondrej Kral/Tereza Švábíková (Czech Republic) and Ruben Garcia/Lucia Rodriguez (Spain).

There will be two all-European first-round clashes in mixed doubles. Julien Maio/Léa Palermo (France) will take on Calvin Devereux/Desiree Töpffer (Germany), while Oliver Butler/Abbygael Harris (England) face second seeds Callum Hemming/Estelle Van Leeuwen (England).

In addition to the players already in the main draw, several other European athletes will also be aiming to progress through the qualification rounds.
